Suagercubes88 - Mellark Children

Mellark Children:

It’s a warm spring afternoon. A waft of delicious aroma of freshly baked goods lingers around the Mellark household. Buttercup, the old cat with a tatty ginger coat, stretches and yawns. Peeta Mellark was just baking a beautiful cake in the kitchen. He leaves the beautifully decorated cake on the kitchen table. It’s Katniss’s birthday today.
The door at the back of the house opens and two children run in. The girl, whose brown hair framed her face like a fluffy cloud, beckons hers little blonde-haired brother inside. The little boy, no older than three years old, strains to keep up with his older sister.
Both children stop at the kitchen door. The girl smiles as she remembers the occasion. She says to her brother, “You mustn’t touch the cake. It’s mummy’s birthday today.”
She pulls a small stool to the table and stands on it to reach the big table. Her brother copies her. She rests her head on the table and takes in the sight of the delightful cake, while her brother goes on tiptoes but barely touching the huge table.
Buttercup enters the kitchen at a slow pace and jumps onto the table and then onto the window sill. He rests there, next to the vase of Primroses and listens to the whispers of his deceased owner’s niece and nephew.
The children leave the kitchen to find their parents. Katniss has never felt so complete in her life.

SPOILER

Okay so here's a major spoiler that I've probably already mentioned in one of my previous posts. But here's the thing, don't read this if you haven't read the end of Mockingjay yet.

Finnick Odair dies.

Yep.

And you know about the page me and my friend created: RIP Finnick; The Sexiest Man in Panem.

If you search it on Google, it's totally on there and it's pretty awesome actually. The thing is, I haven't been on recently. Sometimes I feel like I haven't got much to post, and I just sit there waiting for something to happen - even though I'm the admin.

So that sucks.

"That is Mahogany"

If you've watched the movie, you'll know about Effie's line "That is mahogany!"
It is so funny! It started a mahogany hype. It's such an epic line.

So here's a picture I made (:

The Hunger Games Movie

I can not believe I didn't blog about the movie as soon as I've watched it on the 22nd of March. I don't know why I didn't!
Me and my friend Hemma went to watch it as an advanced showing. We were kinda dressed up as random "Capitol" people. But when we got there, no one else was dressed up so we were a bit gutted.

DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE MOVIE YET. Or if you don't like people having complaints.

Anyhow, the movie was great. I cried so much at Rue's death, and we forgot the tissues. I screamed when the wolf mutts jumped out, even though I was expecting it. The cave scene was a bit too short, I think, it needed more in it. Haymitch was hilarious and I love Effie. Peeta's hair was ridiculous and the flames were kinda fake and stuff. The ending needed more.
But all in all, great book adaptation. Still love it.
My God, Cato is hot. Or Alexander Ludwig is.
Going to watch it again soon! -fangirl scream-

Rating: 9.5/10 <3

I will totally buy the movie and watch it over and over again. Just another 600 or so days left until Catching Fire!!!

Mrs Everdeen and Mr Mellark

Hey, Panemaniacs! I haven't posted in a long while so here's something I wrote to say sorry!

Somewhere on the long stretch of meadow, laughter could be heard. It wasn’t often someone would hear laughter in District 12. People usually groaned in pain or just wept for the sake of being hungry and poor. Of course, that was just the edge of District 12. The townspeople seemed less hungry, but people from the Seam knew they weren’t very different from each other.
The girl and the boy were from the town area of District 12. The girl was the healer’s daughter and the boy was the baker’s son. Today they’d decided to venture off to a place of their district where they haven’t been before. The boy was telling jokes as usual and the girl laughed. When she laughed, her eyes shone.
They sat on the green grass and the girl made daisy chains. In the boy’s eyes, she would always be the most beautiful girl in the whole of Panem. Lost in the girl’s beauty, the boy said something without meaning to. “You know, if I could, I'd marry you,” the boy said.
They weren’t much older than sixteen. The girl looked at him with wonder. She knew he was the kind to just mess around and never to mean anything seriously. This was a serious matter. She knew she’d marry him right on the spot if he’d proposed. “You’re kidding, right?” was what she’d said.
The boy, hearing this response, stammered and panicked as he said, “Y-yeah. Of course I was just kidding, Lily.”
Lily looked away. “Good. I thought you were serious there for a moment.”
Five years later, the boy was walking around town on his way home. He and Lily hadn’t been talking for a few weeks now. It was probably that stupid argument they had – which he most definitely did not start. Girls were so sensitive. Lily ran off and now she wouldn’t even look at him.
That Everdeen boy was an idiot, to think he could mess with a Mellark.
A year later, a lot of things had changed. Lily Porter became Lily Everdeen. Mr Mellark senior had passed away, leaving his bakery in the hands of his only son.
The boy, who grew into a mature man, thought nothing other than his business after he learned that his only lover in the Panem was married to a Seam boy. He got married, of course. He had to. His family business was going downhill and the only way he could manage it was to marry the woman from a wealthier family in the district. She wasn’t like Lily at all. She wasn’t kind. She wasn’t gentle. But she knew about Lily and she didn’t like her.
Mellark junior often wondered why Lily chose the miner. One day he came across the meadow, where he and Lily had been only once in their teenage years, and heard laughter. It was Lily’s laugh, the one he’d longed to hear for a long time. The baker followed the sound and came up to the electric fence, which was never on. He looked beyond the fence and saw Lily. She had her blond hair loose and free around her shoulders, not like how she used to have it in a braid.
“Sing for me!” she said.
The baker thought, sing? She’s never asked me to sing before.
But then the miner from the Seam sang. And when he sang, all the birds stopped to listen. Even Mellark junior was holding his breath by the end of the song.
That was when he realised how Lily came to fall in love with the Everdeen boy so many years ago. Mellark would never have had captured a heart like Everdeen did.
Lily loved her husband very much. When she thought about her first love, she would hurt. Every time she saw him, she would want to apologise to him and explain why she’d changed. Of course, she’d love him forever because he was her best friend. When her first daughter was born, she hoped she would never have to choose whom to love because it was the hardest decision Lily Everdeen had had to make. And she never said a word to her daughters about how she and Mellark ever knew each other. But then maybe they’ll understand why the baker would offer them cookies and smile at them.
The baker would sit in his bakery sometimes and regret all the opportunities he had had in the past to tell Lily how much he loved her and that, actually, he was serious about marrying her. On the spot. At the age of sixteen.

District 14 HC

District 14 is like nothing anybody has seen before.
The sleek designs of buildings and the quality of technology have made District 14 much more advanced than the Capitol. Of course, District 14 used to be part of Panem. It used to be the Capitol’s favourite district, before the rebellion and before the Hunger Games, because it was so small and reliant on the Capitol. But then the president of that time decided to carry out small development plans on District 14, sure that this district wouldn’t rebel against the almighty Capitol. But he was wrong.
After decades of building new facilities secretly, District 14 came to realise that they didn’t have to be the Capitol’s pet project. And so the very first rebellion of Panem began. Of course, this was never known to anyone else in Panem. The district was so small it didn’t stand a chance against the Capitol.
However, District 14 still stands. The president couldn’t bear to have all his efforts destroyed so District 14 was cut off from the rest of the world. It stands as a magnificent piece of sculpture, created and admired by the Capitol. The president demanded a force field to be made to ensure no one trespasses into District 14. Everything was fine, until a little boy and a little girl found the glitch in the force field.
And told their son, who told the mockingjay.

Boom

I am in love with the word "boom" at the moment. I woke up this morning with the word "boom" in my head and immediately thought of the Hunger Games for some odd reason. Anyway, I spent a few minutes writing a headcannon (I was late for school, too) and here it is. It's my second headcannon ever.

Boom.
The sound of an explosion jolted Katniss awake. There were no screams tonight, but Katniss's sudden movement caused Peeta, who was lying right by her side, to sit up almost immediately. He was always alert, always there for her. He asked her what was wrong. But instead of telling him about how she dreamt of him strangling her when he was hijacked and how the sounds of explosions just wouldn't leave her alone, Katniss wrapped her arms around Peeta and said, "Don't ever leave me again."

And that's it for today!

Only 60 days left. Tell your friends about this blog! Thanks.
